Flamingo and the Luxor. Yes the Flamingo is a bit date as stated above but it’s still a excellent place.

The Luxor is the “it”places right now for the younger crowd.

Now, I really liked GSpins answer also but I have to disagree with his take on the Tropicana. He must have had a terrible experience here. I stay in the upgraded rooms at the cheapest rates. I reckon the staff is nice and the rooms are clean. It is just a bit dated is all. But it is vintage Vegas and who knows how long it will be around. It also has a excellent location going for it. It is right by MGM Grand, NYNY, Luxor and Mandalay Bay. As well as within walking to the ones up strip. I have stayed at the Trop for like $30 a night and ya can’t beat that for on the strip when you are only sleeping in the room.

For your age group I would say-

Mirage
New York New York
Flamingo (Looking a bit dated but still attracts a excellent young crowd especially at the pool)
Mandalay Bay
Hard Rock
Planet Hollywood
Treasure Island

Luxor is fantastic for ALL “Newbies” the place is the cheapest of the top price end and the place never fails to leave first-timers awestruck! One thing… The Pyramid itself is still grand and gorgeous But unless you want a spa suite, I would recommend a Tower room since they are much nicer, though a bit of a trek to “the action” in the Pyramid. If you want a Pyramid room (as many first-timers do) get one above the 5th floor, The rooms have excellent sound proofing but if your room is under the fifth floor, you may feel the thump-thumping from the LAX Night club and IMAX theatre.

I’d stay away from Wynn, Paris, Caesars, Bellagio and The Venetian. They’re all luxurious and wonderful. But attract a more mature crowd. For a 21st birthday… You need a younger atmosphere, but still a reflection on new emerging sophistication! Also keep away from the Stratosphere, Circus Circus… that end of the strip is tacky and not the safest at night. I would also stay away from The riviera, Tropicana, Harrahs, they atract an older crowd and the atmosphere can best be described as “Faded glory” to be polite.

I’ve always liked the Luxor. Especially the mini suite. Each one has a hottub inside next to the window. And the windows are all window. No wall. Also there is a seperate sitting area in another room. The best thing to do is sign a guestbook online. The hotels will usually send offers through email during the slow season.

Try http://www.lasvegasnow.com for prices, etc. The lower prices are Tropicana, Flamingo, Sahara, and Circus Circus (especially their manor). Also on the Strip is a Travel Lodge.

Flamingo is very ancient hotel and a bit worn out.
Stay at Luxor, MGM, New York New York, Monte Carlo…
You can always get a excellent deal.

the flamingo, stardust, and tropicana are the places i’ve stayed there. all were decent. you usually don’t spend much time in your room when your in vegas. have fun>
