Menorca is regarded as one of the best destinations for sunshine, gorgeous beaches and a relaxing family holiday. Many tourists regard it as the perfect island for holiday makers going on vacation staying in holiday homes. It is a gorgeous island with superb sandy beaches and home to some of the best holiday villas in Europe.

The island is very well loved with families going on vacation staying in holiday cottages or holiday villas. It is also a romantic holiday destination with couples going on a relaxing holiday to the island with many staying in self catering apartments.

Menorca lies in the north of Spain’s Balearic Islands and is the group’s second largest and most unspoilt holiday island. The island has some gorgeous beaches and silent coves. Many of the beaches have gorgeous holiday villas with swimming pools close by. Son Bou, Punta Prima, Arenal d’en Castell and Cala Galdana boast gorgeous sweeps of sand, while the small coves of Ciudadela and Binibeca offer more tranquil sunbathing.

Lovers of sun and more traditional holidays may rent one of the fabulous villas in Binibeca which is located to the south of the island. For holiday makers looking for a more active holiday, they may rent self catering apartments in Playas de Fornells in the north of this gorgeous holiday island.

The north of the island is home to Menorca’s only golf course at Son Parc. It is well loved with tourists on a family holiday with many staying in a holiday villa. It is ideal as the golf course is located just a few minutes away from some of the islands best beaches. Port Addaya is home to some quaint holiday cottages and is an ideal destination for families looking for a silent relaxing holiday.

To the east of Menorca lies the capital of Mahon. This is a stylish destination full of excellent restaurants and shops. There are many self catering apartments available to rent in Mahon.

Menorca has a Mediterranean climate, and averages 315 days of sunshine a year. The average summer temperature is around 30 degrees, although this often rises in the middle of August. Winters in Minorca are mild and often sunny, but the high humidity and strong winds that come down through France can make it feel rather cold and damp.

Families return to Menorca year after year staying in holiday homes. They are drawn back by the charm of the island and the friendly locals. It is an island that has not been spoilt by tourism and offers a fantastic family holiday. There is a tremendous choice of holiday home rentals to choose from with some gorgeous villas and holiday cottages.
