It’s another term for “going Dutch” or “Dutch date”. Which means that the bill is shared by all party members. Either everyone pays for their own share, or more common the total amount of the bill is simply devided by the partie members. And everyone just pays an equal share. This since the bill is often made up for the entire party and not each individual, thus trying to reduce hassle.

I like science too and it is a pleasure to talk to you. Have you ever heard the term dutch treat?

What’s Anne Frank got to do with jump rope? It was probably around 1614 and on from that (time of the Dutch settling at what now is New York). I don’t reckon Anne Frank or any other jewish girl from the WW2 was even an atom in their parents, cause their fantastic grandparents weren’t even there yet. ;)

By BoyJewish on December 5, 2009

Anne Frank was from Holland.

By GC0020 on December 5, 2009

really, the Dutch DID the ’sport’, the English CALLED it “Double Dutch”. So don’t blame anyone from the Netherlands.

By LogiForce86 on December 5, 2009

Okay, i’m Dutch but thats just non-sense. Like said by etimodnar its introduced by us Dutch. We played with jump rope on the school playgrounds a lot and someone just made it populair.

Besides that, you are now also a racist then by implying that a every European citizen is a Dutchy. Which I don’t reckon everyone would like as I know there are people out there that don’t want to be compared to the Dutch or vica versa.

I reckon racist is just a means to kill your boredom, Billy ;)
